The Book of Boba Fett dives straight into the story of Boba Fett and how he managed to survive after being swallowed by a Sarlacc. This is a very good first episode to set the tone for the rest of the show.
The show begins as Boba Fett is getting healed in his healing pot. He is having dreams about his past and what he has gone through all these years. The scene where they've shown how Boba gets out of the Sarlacc's body was a treat to watch, I've never imagined that one day I would get to see that. The visual effects are great just like 'The Mandalorian'. The story shows us how he lost his armor and got along with the Tusken Raiders. That whole storyline is pretty interesting, really good to watch.
We also get to see how Boba Fett wants operate his criminal empire. He faces some trouble in doing so. He faces a dangerous attack nearly gets killed. But with the help of Fennec and his guards he manages to survive the attack. Fennec chases the attackers and captures one of them. The whole chase sequence was entertaining. The Parkour stuff was good to watch. Parkour in Starwars universe, who would've thought that.
In his flashbacks, we get to see the Tusken Raiders up and close, I think the Starwars universe has never explored them this closely, which is very refreshing to see. We also get to that how much Boba Fett has gone through in his life, some really brutal stuff. There is one scene in this episode with a Sand Monster, which I've never seen before. The design of that creature is amazing. The whole sequence was fantastic. Boba Fett earns the Tusken Raider's respect by saving the life of a Tusken child and killing the Sand Monster in doing so.
As far as the performances are concerned, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett is simply outstanding, he is so good to watch. So is Ming-Na Wen as Fennec, her chemistry with Temuera is great, that made the episode even better. The music of this show is also amazing, very different from 'The Mandalorain' yet there is some connection. The direction to me was superb by Robert Rodriguez, writting by Jon Favreau is tight.
Overall this was a perfect first episode for this new show. Let's see what we have for us in the coming episodes.
