We finally got a sequel to one of the most popular movie franchises. I am actually very satisfied with this movie. It remained true to its core I guess.
The movie has amazing visual effects, it's a treat to watch all the effects on screen. Action is not much there, this is more reliant on the plot and it keeps you hooked throughout. Actions sequences could have been better though.
The performances are excellent, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss are the soul of the movie. They are top notch as Neo and Trinity. Other characters are also very good and performed very well by the actors. Priyanka Chopra as Sati is perfect in the role, she delivers a powerful performance in a small role.
There are a few scenes which hit you hard and make you feel nostalgic. The one scene that hit me really hard was when Neo sees Morpheus' statue and then they show flashback where Neo and Morpheus are shaking hands. That just got me really hard. The story overall is very good and engaging. Neil Patrick Harris as the bad guy is fantastic, he excels in the role. The new agent Smith is also cool and it was very interesting to see Neo and agent Smith working together.
Overall I really liked the movie, specially the story, visual effects and the performances. Hopefully we'll get to see some more movies in the Matrix franchise.
